Day's Programme
Valais, a fertile region
The diversity and richness of the region's vintages are celebrated through the products of around twenty winegrowers in the convivial and bucolic setting of the Jardin des Vins in Sion.
Cured meats and raclette
Valais cured meats and PDO raclette are served according to the tradition associated with this well-known cheese. Enhanced by local wines, these quality products are enjoyed to the sound of the choir of the Gais Chanteurs of the Ordre de la Channe.
Underground lake of Saint-Léonard and visit to the Saint-Maurice Abbey
Located over 30 metres below the vineyard, the Lake of Saint-Léonard, the largest natural underground lake in Europe, is discovered during a boat trip. The day will then continue at the Saint-Maurice Abbey with an ecumenical service.
Perch fillets
The day draws to a close in Chablais, where fillets of perch, an emblematic fish of Swiss lakes, are served.
